Grumpy Yeti is the first boss encountered in Crystal Caverns. He is actually Aspen Frost under the control of Shadow magic.
Appearance[]
It is a yeti with pale indigo fur and a lavender skin tone. He wears a ski mask with indigo lenses and a green rim, and a dark purple and light blue scarf around his neck. Pale purple crystals encapsulate each of his hands. When a Crystal Shield is destroyed, a Crystal Monster will fall off of his hands.
Strategy[]
The boss is unaffected by spells, but the Crystal Shields are vulnerable and weak against Astral elemented spells. Destroying them will crumble the Crystal Monsters. Grumpy Yeti will transform back into Aspen Frost when both are destroyed, and the player wins.
The player should not target spells at the Grumpy Yeti because he cannot take any damage with the shields on. Defeating the Grumpy Yeti can be done by casting spells only at the crystals next to him

- After Grumpy Yeti is defeated, a shroud of purple mist, similar to the mist on the Crystal Golem uses when swapping elements, appears then clears to reveal Aspen Frost.
- Aspen Frost is the yeti mentioned by a Miner.
- There is a secret Chest behind the Yeti, in which the player can rarely find Sparkle Snup in it.
- There is an ongoing bug in which before transforming into Aspen Frost, Grumpy Yeti no longer continues his idle animation, but freezes in place instead.
- Before the 2023 update, the player must defeat both Crystal Monsters that have fallen off Grumpy Yeti's hands after the transformation in order to win.
